Glossary (Plurals are gained by adding ‘s’, unless otherwise stated.)
Asperini – mer-folk. Badonza – whale. Boshga – small fish, similar to Wergums. They live in small crevices in rock formations. Brecas – narwhal. The whale with the long tusk-like tooth. Castoni – a small burrowing fish, no bigger than the hand, can be found in any environment, with a preference to cooler waters. Conzora – a creature found in the deepest ravines. It has six adapted pectoral fins for walking, a small head on long neck, with teeth sharp enough to cut through rock. Standing, it reaches no taller than an arm’s length. Cospur – brother. Desentine – a small shark. Ergonia – a small castoni-like fish also found under the ocean floor. Found only in warmer waters. Ferronza – serpentine or long thin single limbed being. They, unlike their smaller kin, have bones. These bones are small, allowing them to turn and curl. Fozanta – Tiger Shark. Garachter – a large whale, smaller than a blue whale by a head. They have two long thin teeth close together protruding from their maw, one from the upper and one from the lower. These teeth once stabbed into prey, then open, slicing the prey in two. Ghanzi – crab. Gorzinia – Humpback Whale. Gradonzara – dragon. Hacka – shark. Haspur – father. Inconi – Ice Fish. Found in the southern hemisphere around Antarctica and Southern America. They have an anti-freezing property within their blood. Jigna – small fish often found in groups around the base of rock walls. Kacktoza – Killer Whale. Ligphur – mermaid. Lomza – moon. Lupris – a luminescent fish, red in most cases, some are known to be yellow and not to be confused with Wergums, as these can upset the stomach. Their glowing light illuminates two metres around their body. Mercot – an adult merman/mermaid. Merlot – a parent merman/mermaid. Monaika – pearl. Monza – ray. Mur – young female mermaid. Nic – compass direction: north. Nghoza – human. Ock – compass direction: east. Oot – compass direction: west. Pinoi – small fish found in large groups. Poren – merman. Porene – mermen. Reilini – porpoise. Remur – daughter of a merman/mermaid. Respur – son of merman/mermaid. Rutunza – Blue Whale. Shinklers – mackerel. Sid – compass direction: south. Slugum – a small fish, with a make-up of mostly blubber which live beneath the ocean floor. Soltaire – sun. Spur – young male merman. Tamur – mother. Tentalien – octopus. Thelainin – the largest of all sharks, twice the size of a Great White. Trulaini – a small fish always clustered into dome formation, numbering many thousands within the dome. Vamur – sister. Wadzana – penguin. Wergum – a small luminescent fish, green and sometimes yellow. They are a delicacy to all asperini. The light they emit can light an area a metre around their body. Zerlini – dolphin.
