The Tucht de Voight has found its way back to Chrythus. It had been bidden to the depths of a great abyss many revolutions of the soltaire ago. It is a relic of the old magic, gifting its bearer with many abilities, the main of which is sight in many forms: the ability to see when visibility is poor, the ability to see that which is hidden such as the many predators who lay in wait beneath the ocean floor, and the ability to know solutions to problems where all truths have proved fruitless. Not all of these abilities are given, they must be learned. The trouble with this is its creators are no longer of the living. Any who have come into contact with it have ended up either mad or dead which is why it was discarded, thrown into the depths for all’s protection.
Chrythus had been there when they removed it from the clutches of one poren who did not go mad or become consumed when it was placed in his clutches. It was quickly removed and thrown into the endless black void, for fear of what that might mean. Chrythus had hoped they’d leave him, watch him to see what might occur, but they were scared, and they had every right to be. They should have killed the poren, but didn’t, instead they took him far away and abandoned him to live life as he saw fit. Little did anyone know then, the poren would seek to find the relic again and seek revenge for what they had wanted of him: death or an empty mind for the rest of his natural life. Chrythus wants Morg’s youngling for his own reasons. The White Queen’s wishes clash with his and he wants her gone. Though he can change her from a single being to ten, twenty or even thirty lesser beings, the relic can destroy her entirely. He only need point the bearer of the Tucht in the right direction.
